Airbrush art of an airbrush art makes me laugh Update — Airbrushes & Airplanes

Paint is drying so I have no alternative than to let it dry. Something to think about…

What makes you laugh? A competition against none other than myself. Mural on the videos I did over 18 years ago. What makes me laugh. I do. Lmao 🤣 With all my shenanigans and all the smart Alex remarks I be making. The clever jokes and play on words, I entertain myself quite a bit. […]

An airbrush art of an airbrush art makes me laugh — Airbrushes & Airplanes
  1. As an artist

I understand there are many situations where we as artists feel pressured and rushed by clients and others who do not understand the process of art and paint, and even science; and how it all applies to the total outcome. Most of the time I do not know the steps I need to take myself. I trust my intuition.

I’ve had many instances in my airbrush career where I rushed a piece of art to accommodate the deadline that I was given. Pressure keeps me moving faster, but not always better, especially when it comes to artwork. If something is not fully dry, there are always consequences that will be faced sometime in the final.

This is why I usually need to have a garment at least overnight to make it look the best I could possibly do. I have found, for me at least, that when I do the initial base coat on many projects I do, I visualize where the overall picture will end up. Many times I do not concern myself with going over or under the amount I need. If it is meant to be, it is meant to be. However, manifestation, pay attention; as I lay the base coat I sometimes imagine the overall area. I am so great with myself and my skills, many times I don’t even think, I just do, let my hand move while I work on manifesting something else. The art of forgetting and letting the universe work with you on the piece of art. Same for typing for me, which is what I am doing while paint dries as it is doing at the moment while I tell the story.

I let the initial coat dry overnight and sometimes depending how intense the artwork is, I will visualize the information given to me by the client and let something be created in my mind. Again, I am not forcing any thoughts, just letting them flow together. When I awake, as it was told in the movie, The Secret, my hands move in a similar pattern as it was visualized in my mind the night before while paint was drying.

2. As a client

I understand that the process of airbrushing seems quite simple, especially when you watch airbrush artists shooting paint and making something appear. And if you have seen an airbrush artist in an amusement park, then you see art being completed in 10 to 20 minutes. Those are called quick sales, my friends. Meaning you paid money to have it done fast and easy.

This is why at the amusement parks and birthday parties they almost only paint on white clothes, hats, ect. Any other color item takes more than 10 to 20 minutes, mostly because of the drying time!

So if you see your artist playing on his phone, reading or doing anything other than your job that you paid money to have done, if it is on an item other than white, then there is moments where the paint has to dry. The more an artists tries to rush this process, the more undesired effects. Please do not feel that you are not taken serious as a client. Especially for me, every client is very important.

When I am the client I do my best to take into account how I feel when I am the server, so I treat others with the same respect I expect. If I can pay more than what I was asked for, I will. The abundance has been returned to me every time and it feels good to see people smile.

3. Lesson in Life, (at least that I take from it)

When the paint has to dry it has to dry. There are many things that I have to complete in a day. Writing, meditating, flirting, f-ing, caring, learning, teaching, loving, reading, planting, cleaning and so on and so forth. So when I have to let it do what it do, I find one of the many tasks that I need to accomplish. And as Cynthia Romero stated on one of her recent blogs, having daily goals set for yourself, especially written down, helps you accomplish them.

With the many tasks that will bring me join doing and having done, I keep myself busy in the moments that the paint is drying. Ironically, I still get impatient when I am trying to formulate a coolass blog with photos and all that, and cannot be patient with the computer loading, LOL. Hey, I’m already letting paint dry.

Laugh is funny, only what you make it be. You take it serious then serious it is. If like is a beach then you live by the beach. Take your time, do it slow and enjoy. There are moment that I am outside grounding or Earthing, while one of my art pieces is drying. Most of my clients now are patient and tell me to do what I need to do. I appreciate these clients very much with very much gratitude, and excel to do my best. I recall sometimes when it wasn’t so, and enjoy the pace I take and how my artwork comes out almost every single time. There are times when the project just has to be finished as quick as possible and still make it look as best as I can.

I have learned to really enjoy the moment, and sometimes even enjoy the reaction to a client when they see an uncompleted project. Say this piece at this stage. Someone would probably freak out thinking I just scribbled all over his face(s).

A magician never reveals, or does he or she?

I am excited on how this artwork will turn out. I, myself, do not even know how my part of the project will look when I decide I am done. The finish product will be sooooo freakin awesome! I cannot wait.

4. The joy and excitement of completion

As far as the competition against myself, I have found it is better to be a team player. I think I was awesome back then, and as I was trying to duplicate the art I did on that garage door, I went through some of the same struggles as I did when I created it in the first place. The problems with the colors and what not. It was almost like letting the younger me take over the airbrush gun and show me how it was done.

I enjoy collaborating. The final product will be a wonderful collaboration, and it brings me joy and excitement to be as surprised on the completion as everybody else.

  1. “Impressive” doesn’t even begin cutting close to a viable opinion.
