Seeking knowledge was not as instant as typing and having it at our fingertips before the internet.
DIY was not a concept thought of when you decided to do it yourself. You had to ask someone or seek the information from a book or printed material.
G-Rated was not created and there was no idea of creating blogs about gardening while learning how to garden.
I do my best to enjoy the past, present and future. Love telling the stories of how we had one phone per household and we would drag a long cord to try to get some privacy. But do you really want to go back to the days when you would hear that phone line buzzing while a photo uploaded piece by piece. LOL!

So true. Having the internet has definitely been both a blessing a curse. I enjoy being able to find information quickly and easily, and I definitely being able to keep up with friends all over the world. Yet, I am afraid the “microwave” approach to knowledge and basically everything in life has created a society that is a bit spoiled and dependent rather than self reliant, intellectually independent and event reliant on the older generations for wisdom and guidance. We’ve forsaken perseverance for instant gratification and endurance for self indulgence that lends itself to laziness, greed and apathy. There can be a balance to the extreme pendulum we’ve seen to swing toward these, and I’m praying for this next generation to recognize the errors of our ways and to resist the carnal destination for which we are currently destined…
You are absolutely right. What I do is teach my daughter and her daughter to use the technology to research and then go out and experiment for real. I ask them to tell me, is the info online conclusive with what they found in reality?
Unfortunately I can’t tell everyone to do that or to tell their children to do that, but I do my best by making these blogs for my descendants available for anyone who would like to read the thoughts I had and trials and tribulations I faced and overcame.
I also tell myself, if no one reads it, I got it off my chest. No future is set, all a set of opportunities. We can still change the outcome with the thought of one person teach two people, teach four people, teach more people. Thank you for being a part of the Convo 😊
