T​he guys continue joking and laughing about some of those highlighted moments on their journey together. One of them asks ” you think we should keep walking to try to make it to the United States?”

L​eo said that is still his plan and he knows she is very determined to still go. He looks at her sitting alone and she rolls her eyes. The old man starts telling jokes about the days of his youth and teens at the ranch. They all were laughing at the crazy stories. She gets up from her chair and walks towards the old man. She asks if she can use the restroom by his ear.

“​Oh yea, yea! It, it, it is over there. Go inside the glass doors, turn to the right. The light switch is on the left side once you enter the dark room and the bathroom is on the left. Hold the lever down when you flush! Hehe he!” The old man watches her walk towards the glass door with a slight droolly face. Leo notices with a bit of jealous rage he tried to hide. “So where IS everyone else, Viejo? Where are the other people that helped you in the ranch? Why are you alone?” Leo asks.

“​Ma and Pa died …..” he began when Leo blacked out.

S​he took the opportunity to poke around and see what she could find behind the desk that was positioned parallel to the wall with the restroom. She started digging, trying to quickly get some knowledge about the host who welcomed a bunch of strangers into his house. She was trying to be quick and quite. Can anyone really be quick and silent when they are going through someone else’s things?

I​ am sure that she thought since everyone she knew was outside, there wasn’t much to worry about. However, she felt a presence inside the house that hadn’t been identified yet. She looks to the door opening behind her and feels she caught wind or something in that direction as she looked. She closes the desk drawer and goes to the restroom to poke around some more.
