Seems to me my dislike is still the headline on Netflix

Not one for kings, queens or royalty. I would not bow in the presence of one or act like a groupie. I don’t know, there is no  reason I should give my interest in my mind to those people. I am not saying they are bad or anything, just do not have an interest in them. I understand that some people do and to each its own. But I am pretty confident that Netflix had an algorithm that when you give a show a thumbs down, that show will be out of your sight. They also included a message that read something like, they will not show you content of that nature anymore. I do not know the exact messages, I haven’t disliked a show in over a year. Seems to me that all that spyware that we have submitted to seems to be working well for everyone somewhat. Whatever your pleasure or interest, the internet will give you more of it and more of it in abundance. That is why I am very very particular in not selecting images, links or content that I am not interested in seeing, because if the system inputs that you have interest in that topic, it will feed you more of it whether you like it or not. Hmmm, sounds like manifestation as well for anyone who likes to ponder on ideas like that, as I do.

A general example, if you are not a person interested in war movies, if you dislike a war movie, that movie goes away. If you dislike a couple more war movies, the genre practically disappears from your page. Same with much of the content on your phone and computer. But if you start searching war movies, then you will start seeing movies and ads about weapons and tactics, websites and other targeted material around war and defense. You might think you are going deeper down the rabbit hole with all this new content and material concerning your subject. Conspiracies are some that will lead you down a path of knowledge that is mostly one-sided mostly your side, because it is what you want to see. If you get into environmental issues, then you see all the nasty messed up things that we human beings have done to our home planet. But unless you start searching for solutions, then all you will see is the problems, over and over and over again. It is what the internet does for us. It certainly gives us more of what we want in abundance. So clearly I can understand that I need to focus more on what I want instead of what I don’t want on the internet and my phone.

So I see this big preview on the front page of Netflix with the show “Harry & Meghan” and I am not interested. I go to More Info and notice that they do not show the thumbs down now, only thumbs up. Interesting. But it is actually not surprising to me at all. It is like when you go to buy products in a store running Square or some new POS system. Most of those systems automatically prompt you to add a tip with your purchase. What Netflix is trying to do with this new feature is to most likely get you to click like, and if you don’t like it, just go away without clicking dislike because it is not readily accessible. If you want to dislike the show, you have to hoover above the thumbs up and allow the other thumb options to pop up.

I figured out how to dislike the Harry and Meg and I did. It did not disappear as usual. I refreshed the page, went to another tab and came back to it. Same large preview. Loud and obnoxious to me too. Disturbing to my ears. Most likely simply because I went through the process of disliking a show and it is still highlighted at the top of the home page to Netflix. It is the first time that a show has been stubborn to continue to exist in my playlists. I don’t know if it is an isolated incident due to some big ass pockets demanding this show stays in people’s faces whether they like to or not, or if it is a new trend that Netflix is imposing on its viewers. I don’t know, what do you think?
