Nobody is telling anybody that they should stop believing or that this is the ultimate truth of all ultimate truth. If you do not test your ideas that you have accepted to be facts, then you are still basing your information of theories of others. When you do your own experimentation and come to a conclusion, then you have a theory of your own that you can align with others with similar theories.
