What promises am I actually keeping?

I think the question puts it in past tense indicating something you did and is complete. I think that the promises I made I am keeping, working on them, learning, growing and adjusting when and where it seems necessary.

I will attempt to give an update and circle around the question as I rant.

When Separate Dreams Become One

Currently I am in the process of completing the next Chapter of this series that started from an Artist Update that kicked off this series, where I take you on a journey through the artist’s mind, the inspirations and back stories to the music and art.

There is a rough draft outline of at least 12 or 13 chapters and When Separate Dreams Become One is the first chapter after the Intro. Most of last year and much of this year, I’ve been creating many songs themed around aviation and student pilots, astrology and Zodiac signs, Chakras, Auras, Colors and ArtMusic. I’ve been on creation mode and releasing as fast as I have completed a project. The music catalog has probably reached about 225 plus songs.

However, with all the producing I’ve been doing on the music side, I’ll admit I have been neglecting and almost ignoring the marketing side of the music. Possibly didn’t feel music was ready or at a good promotional point. The timing just didn’t seem right previously.

Having DistroKid as the distribution has been excellent, especially considering that there has been continuous updates to distribute music and assist artist on their journey by opening up availability to add music videos, lyrics, a website, and/or a merch shop. I’ve found other music platforms as well, like Audius which is more community based and Wavlake, which is Bitcoin native allowing fans and listeners to pay in Sats.

There seems to be good motion and momentum around the music at the moment. There are several updates and releases coming this year and continuing to next year. And I will be writing posts about the Music and Artist on here. Yes, I will admit, this is all part of marketing the music, sending messages that might explain why you hear what you do when listening and more.

There is another reason for all my activity.

Promises I am keeping.

When I started blogging in 2023, without saying, I basically made a promise to keep this blog going as long as I can and somehow we are in the year 2026 now. Time flies indeed. In 2023 after blogging for a few months, I opened my account for music, and that is why music is mentioned quite a bit on this blog. The mission has been Airbrushes and Airplanes, along with journaling my journey. The process as it unfolds.

I also made a promise to make music I enjoy and desire to listen to. As I learned about energies, frequencies, words and the power of how we use them, I decided I needed a change from what was playing on the radio and what I used to think was good music with its curse words, foul language and more for your imagination to ponder on with your own taste of music.

I also have been trying to answer a deep question I asked a while ago. “What would I want to tell my children, grand children, nieces and nephews? What would I like to share with the next generation? How will they absorb my message? Is it possible to predict?”

This was at a moment when it felt like they were attempting to ban books, yet they were advising for everyone to purchase weapons for defense. I’m not against the right to bear arms, but to ban books, paperback copies to be exact, seemed twisted to me. This push towards so much digital and attempting to teach us not to write or read as we have done for centuries.

So I decided to write by hand and digitally, make music, create art, and make videos documenting what I would like my family to know about me as the artist that I am who goes by AlexAirbrushLuna and ICT – DJ Lexo. I am keeping this promise as best as possible, continuing to document the journey and hope to inspire the younger generation. Or anyone who could use a little motivation.

As an Airbrush Artist I have done my best to complete the work I accept same or next day. It took a while building the reputation that I have. It has been a thrill and I still enjoy creating art for clients who come with their special requests. And there seems to be an abundance of people who wait to the last minute to get airbrush artwork, along with many other things.

I do the best I can with the short time that I have with each project, and that is a promise I do my best to keep. When there is plenty of time, there is much more an artist can do to make the art seem more complete. But when the work is due today, tomorrow or due yesterday type of rush, options start reducing significantly. So I feel adequately content that I give my best to each project I receive. I am grateful for every client that chooses me and grateful for everyone who takes the time to read or listen to me.

Promises, promises. I believe in not making them if you cannot keep them. I remember when my daughter was a child, I made sure I would tell her that we would possibly do this or go here, but I would not promise to her that it would happen as planned. So I would lightly suggest keep the promises you make and don’t make promises you can’t keep. Forgive yourself and others who might not be able to keep every promise. For we are all human, and forgetting our promises is part of the experience.
