Enjoying Making Music

A reflection on why I kept creating after discovering my own sound.

Sample of Texas, Canada, Mexico, PR, Salvador, Japan, Signapore and more and Texas, Canada, Mexico, PR, Salvador, Ecuador, Chile, Japan, Signapore y mas

I’ve always had a poetic rhyming mindset.

And music is wonderful in the sense that it gives you a set of rules to follow and to break. Words that end in rhymes. Or don’t. Parameters with options. Creative words or lyrics overlaid to beats and instruments.

Stories, lessons, hidden messages on vibrations and sounds overlapped to make a moment recorded on a song that can be revisited. A lesson heard till its engrained. A new observation in different sessions. Many times a different meaning is uncovered after listening to it days later, weeks later or sometimes years later.

Music has helped me through many moments in my past. I’ve desired to do the same, help through music. In doing so, in many instances I’ve also found myself advising myself in the present and future. Keep hope and keep going. No matter how hard it gets, this too shall pass, keep your head up.

If I can achieve you can believe you can achieve, if you believe. The lyrics in a song I do my best to embody by making music I enjoy and enjoy making music I make.

If it speaks to me, maybe it will to someone else too.

I must have felt my story told across several songs as a youth, from artists and singers I admired. The lyrics would stick in my head and I’d try to recite them as I heard them. My desire was to make my own songs, as a child listening and learning from those songs and lyrics I heard repeatedly. Then, I wrote poetry as a teen, set for later use in future songs.

What creates a Creative Spark?

What sparks your imagination? What does music do to you? How does it speak to you? Why do you like music?

Does it initiate a Creative Spark?

For me, creativity often begins with a single idea and grows into something bigger. Creative Sparks is a reflection of those moments when inspiration takes hold and refuses to let go. It’s a reminder that every painting, every song, and every creation starts with one small spark.

Creating art. Sharing music. Sharing Stories. Earning sats. ⚡

Music speaks to me in several ways. Sometimes the lyrics help give direction or ignition to a spark, a movement or a moment.

For example doing exercise, certain songs give you a boost, like a coach saying “We’ve been here before! We been through worse! You can climb this mountain too! You can, you can, you can do it for YOU!” Those words can be inspirational.

Through music those words are enhanced and flow through you.

Like a wave of music, and a wave of energy.

Music can be reflective, playing words of stories that happened before. What we don’t become aware of, we are destined to repeat. So music can serve as lessons from the past with a beat, to help those in those moments. And help those who have been there before, reflect and recall lessons learned. At least for me, that is how I think of it.

And sometimes words can get in the way of thoughts.

Instrumentals are beautiful with the power to sway moods, yet leave a blank sheet for you to write your own story on top of the song without a story. For example, one that plays in your head while doing chores, working, driving or other activities.

A story for you alone. Inside your head.

And those moments are what Creative Sparks is about.

There are many times I tried to remember words of many songs that played in my head and sounded good, as if I was ready for to freestyle on a mic.

I tried to write them on napkins, cover letters, receipts or anything I could hold of until I was able to transfer write it somewhere else or type it.

This started to teach me to carry small Pearls journals you might see me writing on from time to time.

Because sometimes when those creative sparks begin, they carry information downloaded that keeps flowing.

But if they are not written down in some form or fashion,

they will be forgotten.

And lost.

When I started this style currently on

there was discovered information released and talk about frequencies, energies and how we are affected by them. Situations like the hertz broadcasted might not be something we can control. But that information was something very fascinating and important that I was learning. Experiments they have done with glasses of water. How certain tones create patterns. Something like Heavy Metal creates distorted, unorganized movement. And frequencies that end in 3, 6 or 9 create some symmetrically amazing patterns. Some sound vibrations can even move heavy metal. LOL

And the standard frequency adopted for all tuned radios 440 hz, was not the harmonic frequency that creates balance, but distortion instead.

That standardization is something we don’t have much control over.

Nor do we have control over the 5 to 10 songs played over and over again on each radio station.

I recall I would change to a different radio station, switching between genres. Spanish station. Rock. Rap. R&B. I enjoyed listening to different styles and moods. Even tuned to foreign languages and paid attention to what sounded like a word I recognized. And noticed something a long time ago. They all seem to have commercials almost around the same time.

There was control over what we listened to.

What we listen to, the words and energy we give attention to, we can decide for ourselves, if we are aware.

Maybe not on radio stations or on television. I like how Doctor B Sirius and others have put it “tell lie vision (te-li-vision for television)”

But on our desktop computers and emerging mini pocket computers, that was beginning to change.

Algorithms started mimicking what the universe does for us continuously. Give us more of what we want.

We want blues, more blues. Gospel, more gospel

Rap music on your playlist gives you more rap music and more of the rappers that you might like based on who you are already listening to.

The news, social media content and many things you pay attention to on your phone come from those suggestions the algorithm has decided is right for you. And many times, it is eerily accurate!

As a creator who decided to participate in creating music, I decided to change what my ears hear by making music the way I thought I’d like to listen to.

I learned about frequencies, vibrations, lyrics and spelling. I learned about tuning and tuning in.

And what I write and listen to is what I will receive more of.

Especially if I believe, like my younger self wrote it in a poem entitled What You Can Achieve.

Therefore

If you want change

You are just going to have to make it.

And I did. I started to. It is why I started this style I’m currently on.

Since the topics I wanted to hear weren’t abundantly available, I made my own lanes, styles and kind of music that I categorize as #ArtMusic. Music and art about art and music.

Seems simple. Doesn’t it?

Like vibe coding.

You write what you feel. But to do that.

You need to become aware of those feelings. Go with the flow.

And vibe code.

Maybe there’s songs about art and some made about colors. But most likely not about Airbrush (the tool and artist), the art and colors all together.

The trials and challenges as an artist trying to perfect a piece of artwork.

Making a song about using music to inspire a mood or style in a visual art piece.

Let’s explore an Airbrushed Sunrise

Have you observed the sky and had this feeling that it looks or reminds you of a painting? A painting in the sky. Like an Airbrushed Sunrise.

🌅 Airbrushed Sunrise

Inspired by one of the first techniques many airbrush artists learn—a painted sunrise. A simple exercise that teaches color, light, and atmosphere, turned into an instrumental from my first #Airbrush Mixed ArtMusic album.

Creating art. Sharing music. Sharing Stories Earning sats. ⚡

This Nostr post journeys back to the first few songs in this new Era. An instrumental inspired by a prompt of an Air-brushed Sunrise. Before the adaptation of my style, this instrumental was born.

My goal was to have some songs without lyrics, so I could add my own with voice later.

But…later. Not now.

I have lyrics. But not sure if I want to use them yet. Still learning what I can do.

I tried a few more like Highway Art Dream and some with lyrics for a moment that was occurring like a full moon, called Guidance and Power

Why not a Spanish version called Guidance y Power and in the song have it gently say “Luna Llena”

Alex Airbrush Luna, write my name without calling it that. My signature. On the aviation songs sometimes I used Lima for L and sometimes Luna. Why not both, like in one of the much later songs Lima Luna Taxi Home.

What else can I make a song about?

I was having fun making music. But I needed to stop for a moment and focus. I had canvases I had to finish! It was due on their birthday. Missed that deadline. It was due on Christmas!

Did not make that deadline either!! Ahhh!

Ah-ha, I can make a song about that to help me cope with that.!

About my Brushstrokes and Headaches.

You guessed it.

Lost more time and sleep working on music and missing more deadlines.

Not from lack of working on the canvases.

I tried to improve them. I tried to fix mistakes. I implemented the changes and additions the client requested.

“Why don’t they look the same (on both canvases)?” was the question the client asked about the canvases of her mother and her aunt. I missed their birthday. Not separately. They were twins!

I spent days trying to match them on both canvases, the part where they were children. I didn’t have to airbrush one person as a child and then adult. I had to airbrush two per canvas! What a headache!

The Nostr post recently describing the song read as follows:

Could you relate to a day and night working on an art piece. Critical of your work, seeing only that mistake flashing at you. Yet at the same time, knowing it is due and all you need to do is finish. This too shall pass. But for now…it just feels like brush strokes and head aches!

🎨 Brushstrokes and Headaches

Every artist knows the feeling. Long hours, constant adjustments, chasing an idea until it finally comes together. Sometimes the masterpiece is worth every headache.

Once I played with a few styles I thought about the last song I wrote that I wanted to perform. I wanted to bring back Makavenna to do a verse. Collab with Supastar Eonney on the hook, and bring back Lexo as the lyricist. The task became more challenging than I would like it to be.

I felt the message needed to come out.

Before it became obsolete.

I don’t have a beat.

Maybe I could try one verse, I thought.

It was called Registered a G. The second verse became a separate song. I liked it too. In This Optic N Sanity. Registered a G in this optic insanity.

Dare I create a song just for verse three?

Absolutely. And I called it Be a Challenger (Verse 3)

A powerful female voice chatting for “Sista, you gotta face your challenges. Be a challenger or a charger.”

The twist is simple. Makavenna was going to do the lyrics. She couldn’t decide which car she liked. I said “it could be a Challenger or a Charger.” So it is a choice. And it is saying at the same time.

You can be a Challenger. Or you can be a Charger.

At this time the system didn’t know what to think of me AlexAirbrushLuna. They like to experiment with male and female voices. LOL

Outside the system I went to my own mix and remixed it, slowed it down, chopped it up, H-Town signature, and released it as one song with a long name. The merger, or mashup of the song Registered  a G.

Searching for the next challenge. Anything else?

What about a map?
From Houston, Texas

Art enhanced by #CodacMoments. Future Merch!

Is it a bucket list? IDK

How many songs have you heard with many countries in the song?

From Houston, Texas to Canada. Mexico to Cuba. Puerto Rico. El Salvador, Panama, Ecuador, Chile and much more.

When I took it to Audius I decided to give it a longer name to include some of the countries in the song. International Fly (HouTex, Salvador, Ecuador, Brazil, Japan…)

Since it has Latin American countries, why not make a Spanish version too?

I think that was the last song uploaded that was included in Apple Music named From Houston Texas to – Single by ICT – DJ Lexo

My friend protested that I did not include Italy. So I made a new song with more countries.

Released that..

It ended up being called Worldwide From Houston, Texas (if you know you node)

This song was part one, part two including Italy, and part three with even more countries that I would like to visit or learn more about. Countries that I hadn’t heard too much in English songs.

From stats, the songs were heard in those countries. Someone listened.

I must admit. It did bring me a bit of joy.

I experimented with a meditative aviation-themed one-hour plus long song exclusively on Audius called Fly High Luna Sky. It can only be heard by purchasing the $ICT token at https://audius.co/coins/ICT possibly because I felt there was not many people who might want to listen for an hour and a half

I was also experimenting with another question. How does gate keeping work? And possibly even more important, what does it do to a song? The chances of someone hearing it become less when they are stored under the purchase.

But I get it, artists need to earn too. And those who market themselves have quite a success with it. But if your account is considered to have less than one play per day, like my Audius ICT – DJ Lexo account, requiring purchase to listen is an option to weigh the pros and cons. And I am not making music just to get rich. I am not making it just to be heard. Maybe it is all of the above and more.

I was taking styles, motions, feelings, emotions, blends and genres and mixing them all  together, as I would any creative idea I spark up. Ideas and songs sparked up called Creative Spark, Airbrushed Sunrise, Airbrush In the Air Tonight and BrushStrokes and Headaches. Push boundaries. Then I started thinking about what I was learning at the time. Could I make a song about that? My reply was simply and continuously, “Why not?”

So here I am.

Testing and creating songs.

Playing them back.

Enjoying them and realizing.

The answer is simple.

I enjoy making music.

That is only part of the answer, though.
